Booking Process

You can make your own bookings online through this website, on Fresha, or links through social media platforms. Online booking is very much encouraged as it comes with a feature to manage your own booking, at your own convenience, at any time. This is often much quicker than messaging or calling the salon for changes, as Amy will usually be with another client.

50% deposits are required to make a booking. Please note the below measure to confirm your appointment, and continue keeping us all COVID-19 safe.

Regardless of which booking method you used, you'll receive a booking confirmation request that will ask you to confirm that you have read and understood the cancellation policy. To do this, you'll be asked to confirm your appointment with your card details and the deposit will be taken. Spectrum Nails cannot see, or store any of your payment information, and you won't be charged the balance until after the treatment. As well as confirming the cancellation policy, this process allows for a completely contactless and Covid safe payment option on the day.

No booking is confirmed in the diary until the client has paid the deposit. If this is not completed within 48 hours of making the booking, Spectrum Nails reserve the right to cancel the appointment without notice.

If you have any concerns, please contact the salon directly.

Payments

Card payments are requested, encouraged, and preferred wherever possible. This is an important step in keeping you, staff, and everyone's families safe. When you booked your appointment, you will have confirmed by card anyway, so on the day, payment is as simple as just 'hitting charge' on the booking system. If using the same card to pay, that you confirmed the booking with, then card payments are completely contactless, so do not require your physical card, and as such are not limited by the current £100.00 contactless payment limit. You don't even need to bring your purse with you! (Which also helps to minimise belongings in the salon too).

Cash is still legal tender, and as such will be accepted if card payment is not possible. However, no cash is kept on the premises by Spectrum Nails, and therefore, it may not be possible for us to offer you any change. If you intend to pay by cash, please ensure that you:

  • Have booked the correct treatment(s) including any add ons or nail art, so that the price is correct on your booking.

  • You bring the correct amount to pay for your appointment.

  • As part of the consultation, Amy may make personalised recommendations on aftercare products, so please bear this in mind when bringing cash to pay for any extras. Clients who benefit the best from their treatments, usually purchase a cuticle oil for £5.99, so this may be a consideration for your next appointment.

Arriving On Time, & If you're running late...

When arriving for your appointment, we ask that you arrive promptly, but not early or late. It's likely that there will be another client in before you, and as such they will need access to exit safely, and time for Amy to keep her promise to you for keeping everything clean and safe. If you do arrive early, please park on the drive, wait in your vehicle and be prepared to move your car to allow the previous client to leave. Amy will always be ready for you 2 minutes before your appointment. When your appointment time arrives, please ring the doorbell.

Life happens, and we all occasionally get held up with kids, work, etc. If that happens to you, please let the salon know as soon as possible. We will do our upmost to accommodate you where possible, but please be aware that appointment finish times will still remain the same, regardless of how late you are. This is to protect the next client's appointment from starting late, as this is not fair to them. Amy will do her best to complete your full treatment in the time left, but she will not compromise on quality or service. If it is not possible to complete your treatment fully within the time, Amy will tell you what can be done, or offer to rearrange the appointment for you. In both instances, the full cost of the appointment as originally booked will still be charged, regardless of what treatment is actually performed. If you are more than 15 minutes late, Spectrum Nails reserve the right to cancel your appointment as a 'no show', and charge the 100% cancellation fee.

Rearrangements & Cancellations

All cancellations, or amendments to appointments date/time can be changed free of charge with up to 48 hours notice.

Short notice cancellations or changes are subject to 50% charge, and 100% charge for 'No Show'.

In the event of getting Covid, please call to cancel your appointment asap (prior to the appointment time), and all charges will be waivered with proof of positive PCR test result. If you do not cancel before your appointment, you will be recorded as a 'no show' and will be automatically charged 100%. As above, this can then be refunded with proof, however, refunds may take up to 28days to reach your account. Wherever possible, we strongly advise you to notify us of the need to cancel, immediately, to avoid any delays and prevent the need to process a refund.

Changed Your Mind About Which Treatment(s) To Have?

When booking your appointment, please be sure of your preferred treatment, as changes cannot always be made if another client is booked in after you. No changes can be made inside the 48 hour window prior to appointment, unless they can be completed with your original booked timeslot.

Spectrum Nails will book the appropriate time for the treatment you've selected. If you decide to have more done i.e nail art etc, we cannot guarantee that this can be added on at the time. Likewise, if for example, you booked in for a removal and new overlay, but then arrive and decide you now only want the removal, this is of course absolutely fine, however, you will be charged for the full appointment as originally booked. This is to cover the cost of the dedicated one to one timeslot that was booked just for you.

If you do change your mind ahead of time, and want to avoid any additional charges, please update your booking online, at least 48 hours before your appointment. Please note, if the new treatment package is longer, you may need to select a new date/time.

Health & Safety

COVID-19:

Spectrum Nails is located in the conservatory of a private home. Although government restrictions have now changed, please help us to continue safeguarding all clients, their families, and Amy's family against the ongoing threat of COVID-19 (and other virus's).

All clients are politely asked to do the following:

  • Attend alone, where possible. (Children not permitted)

  • Wear a face covering, if you can.

  • Bring minimal belongings with you.

  • Use hand sanitiser on entry and exit.

  • Conduct a forehead temperature check

Parking:

When arriving, please park your car on the drive, to avoid congesting the busy road. As your appointment is totally private, there is ample off street parking, however, sometimes no turning space. Please be vigilant when using the entrance to the drive as there is a busy main road. Spectrum Nails does not accept any responsibility for damages or thefts of/from client's vehicles.

Accessibility:

All thresholds at the property are low, however not flush, and therefore may not be suitable for all clients. Please call the salon to discuss your access needs prior to booking.

Amy's Promise To You:

All public areas, and equipment will be cleaned and disinfected in between each client. This also includes providing a fresh towel in the toilet facilities, sanitising touch points, and seating. Where possible, Amy will operate door handles. For added ventilation, the conservatory door will remain wide open during your treatment (weather dependent). Amy will continue to wear full PPE appropriate to the treatment, but as a minimum will wear a face covering and gloves. Sanitiser is used on her gloved hands, and tools, regularly throughout your treatment. Each client receives their own equipment where appropriate, which is then kept for re-use next time with the client record card. Naturally, this is not possible with every piece of equipment, but additional measures are in place to manage this. The blue liquid you will see on the table is a germicide, for which Amy is fully qualified to use, in order to ensure the highest standard of protection against cross contamination of germs and virus's.

Molly:

Miss Molly is our nearly 15 year old, resident friendly feline. She shares the same access that we do, and so from time to time, you may see her passing through. She loves to say 'Hi' and come for fusses. She has clients in stiches when she starts 'talking' - Usually shouting at Amy for ignoring her whilst working. She also likes to relax with us in the salon too, so if you have an allergy to cats, or prefer to avoid their company, please let us know in advance, and we will be more than happy to accommodate your needs.

***Important Note*** Whilst every effort will be made to make the salon as allergy free as possible, passing through the family home means that we are not able to 100% protect you against pet allergens. We ask that you consider this factor before booking.

Guarantee

Gel Polish:

Overlays of gel polish on either natural nails, or enhancements, are expected to last around 2 weeks, (and sometimes much longer), depending on your lifestyle, condition of natural nails, and if the aftercare advice given has been properly followed.

Occasionally, accidents happen and so if you notice a problem with the nails within 48 hours, please call the salon to discuss. If there has been a problem with the application, an appointment to re-do the affected nails will be offered asap. No refunds are given.

Anything outside 48 hours could be caused by wear & tear, damage, or not following the recommended aftercare advice. If you experience any unfortunate issues outside of this time, please contact the salon to discuss. Spectrum Nails will still happily offer a repair service, but this may be chargeable.
